Hello Everyone, I bring you greetings as the new President of the Storer College National Alumni Association (SCNAA)! It is with great humility and gratitude that I accept this appointment. I look forward to serving the organization to the best of my ability. According to historical documents, the Storer College Alumni Association was formed in 1877 by a small group consisting of faculty members and students.
A.S Roper
Vice President
A.S. Roper serves as the Vice President of the Storer College National Alumni Association. Roper is the daughter-in-love of two Storerites Russell Roper (1950) and the late Betty Daniels Roper (1948). Roper is the author of children’s books, an elected official, an educator, and a Philanthropist.
Karen Baker
SCNAA Treasurer
Karen Baker, SCNAA Treasurer, is originally from Charles Town, WV, where she attended Eagle Avenue Elementary School and graduated from the former Charles Town Senior High School. Karen received her BS degree in Administration and Economics from Fairmont University (formerly College). She is the granddaughter and grandniece of Storer College graduates. She is a retired federal official, having worked for the Department of the Interior for more than 30 years. Her last assignment was as the Associate Director for Administration and Policy with the U.S. Geological Survey. Karen is a board member of the Interior Federal Credit Union and has served her church community as Treasurer and Vestry member. Karen loves to read and travel.
Delores Foster Jackson
Financial Secretary
Delores Jackson Foster, a native of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, is the third child of the late Daniel David Jackson, Sr., and Mary Frances Taylor Jackson. She was educated in the local schools in Harpers Ferry and Charles Town in the Eastern Panhandle of Jefferson County, West Virginia. She received a Bachelor’s of Art Degree from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, with a major in Business Education and English. She received a Master’s of Arts Degree in Student Personnel Services from New Jersey City State University, Jersey City, New Jersey and completed additional graduate credits in Education/Administration at Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey and Kean University, Union, New Jersey. She is certified as a Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Supervisor and Principal.
